The SDPC has schedule a studio shoot on May 20th from 9am-12pm at The Pixel Lounge SD located at 7955 Silverton Ave, Suite 1215 San Diego, CA 92126. Most businesses in the parking area are not open on Saturday and parking is readily available, with the exception of the San Diego Ambulance Services.

The theme is a ‘Hard Light Photography’. Lexi (our talent coordinator) is providing the outfits for the shoot. Our model is Courtney....

As photographers we are often taught to fear hard light. The result is that an overwhelming majority of photographers primarily use soft boxes, umbrellas, or diffusers in their work. In this photo shoot we will use hard light and thrown shadows to create striking fashion images.  We will create these images using constant light. Constant light allows the photographer to more easily control thrown shadow location relative to the model.

The shoot will begin with a brief tutorial introducing hard light and sharp edged shadows and how to use hard light to achieve exciting images.

In addition, SDPC will provide Godox/Flashpoint constant lighting for the shoot.

The cost of the photoshoot is $60/photographer and will be limited to five(5) photographers. Because we are using constant lighting, triggers will not be needed.
